Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected when you use East Carroll Parish Court Docket, the ways it may be used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be shared. By using this site, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered into a site search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and returns any results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you email us, we retain the message to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, our servers may collect technical details about the visit, including:

  • the IP address associated with the device;
  • browser type and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and time spent on them;
  • the referring site, if one exists; and
  • timestamps for page views.

Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies, small files stored on your device, to understand aggregate traffic, such as frequently viewed pages and exit patterns. Analytics providers help us assess that activity. You may block cookies through browser settings, although some site functions may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • operating, maintaining, and improving site performance;
  • routing a search request to the relevant partner service;
  • understanding which pages visitors use and where improvements are needed;
  • diagnosing and repairing technical problems; and
  • displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests.

No Court-Record Data on File

This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a court-docket database or personal case-record database. It provides general guidance about records held by the East Carroll Parish Clerk of Court, the Sixth Judicial District Court, and the account-gated LCRAA/eClerks route. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party personal records.

Official-record access is separate from this privacy policy. The Louisiana court-record custodian rule, La. R.S. 44:31, and La. R.S. 44:32 govern public access through the appropriate custodian. For criminal cases filed on or after January 1, 2020, La. R.S. 13:5992 addresses electronic LCRAA minute-entry access; it does not promise a complete public case image or apply to traffic violations.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes on this site. Information entered there is governed by the provider's privacy policy, not ours. Those providers determine their own retention and sharing practices, which we do not control; review their policy before submitting a query.

Links to Other Websites

This site links to clerk pages, court portals, LCRAA/eClerks resources, legal-aid organizations, and third-party search tools. Selecting an external link takes you to a different service governed by its own privacy policy. Read that policy before providing personal information.

Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to serve interest-based advertising. That tracking takes place on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to:

  • search partners that process an on-site query;
  • analytics providers that measure site traffic and performance;
  • advertising networks that display advertisements; and
  • law-enforcement or government authorities when a valid legal order requires disclosure.

How We Protect Your Data

We use standard safeguards for the data we collect. Internet-connected systems cannot be made completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If we learn that a minor has provided data, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy or consumer-protection law may provide additional rights over your information. Louisiana's court-record access framework is the Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq., together with La. Code Civ. Proc. art. 251; those laws address official public records, not private visitor data on this site. At a minimum, you may:

  • request a copy of information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate information;
  • ask us to delete your data; and
  • opt out of certain types of data processing.

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. A revised version will appear on this page with an updated effective date.

Effective date: August 26, 2026
